I am resisting the urge to ask you this guys, but I will ask anyway. Anyone watched ‘Me Before You’ the movie? If yes, please tell me you cried your eyes dry. Coz I did. And of all the people I have talked to, looks like I am alien. No one found anything to cry about. To be honest I am a bit shaken myself. I thought I knew myself, why on earth did I use two packets of pocket tissues!? Okay I am exxagerating. But seriously, I need to know.

Moving on musically, anyone late on jumping into the bandwagon that is ‘Lemonade’,Beyonce’s latest album? I wasn’t exactly excited about it (the visual was real good though) but the music, let’s just say I wasn’t so-so excited. Lately though! Boy! I’m I  obsessed? Am on it back to back! I am so hooked on ‘Hold Up’!

In other news, here’s the last look for my oversized white shirt lookbook. I had so much fun styling it, and I hope you liked it. On this last look, I was going for a fun, chilled, I-ain’t-worried-bout-nothin’ look,  while still maintaining some level of edge. All white everything does exactly that. If you missed on the other looks, feel free check them out, especially look 1 where I outlined reasons you should own this shirt!

I am humbled you spared your time to visit! A blessed week to you and yours!

A big thank you to Lily Katule for the glam throughout this look book( Check her out on social media) and my boo Mesi for accompanying me throughout the shoots.

I will be offended if you still need more convincing on the versatility of my Ankara two-set! Heck, the word is even cliché at this point! I have used it so many times (in writing) here on the blog as well as on my social media. On that note let’s connect via my social media avenues [@gracemuriuki].

Hello peeps! So,way 3 which also happens to be my last styling option for my Ankara two-set lookbook is here! Of course there are lots of other ways you could style it. I would love to hear how you would style it, feel free to comment below.

Happiness is having an outfit you could slay in, 7 different ways. Notice 7 has been strategically used to mean all week long! For the more creative lot, let’s work with all year long. Call me cheap but low maintenance is a virtue. If you are looking to add one more virtue, choose cheap, a.k.a get this outfit already! Choose happiness 😁.

I guess am just trying to narrow down a more serious general line of thought with all this. To sum it all up, life is rich in possibilities, the world offers us choices, people we don’t know are working to advance us. The universe is grounding for you. And as one Ralph Marson said, “Here you are in the midst of it all; able to choose what to do. Pause, consider & make each choice worthy of all that makes life possible.

Have a great weekend and may this coming week be the best you have had yet!

Did you know a whooping 1.5tr dollars of the global economy is accrued to the fashion industry. Africa’s contribution to this amount is unknown but I can tell you for sure, countries like Vietnam,China,India,Turkey and the likes are smiling all the way to the bank. Sadly, this is one of the most neglected and underdeveloped sectors in most of African economies. The potential of the fashion industry to provide solutions to the rising youth unemployment and slow economic growth is often overlooked.

African fashion has been receiving a lot of attention in the recent past ranging from runways during fashion weeks to street exhibition of our pieces. We have also been enjoying massive media presence which can only mean that, the world is now aware of our capabilities. Our ability to now take advantage of the prevailing conditions is what will determine how much we rise.

It’s the early time we supported our own local designs, from a place of genuine desire to identify with who we are & the absence of the need for validation of our heritage.Ya digg??

That said, on a lighter note, I apologize for letting the economist/statician in me dominate the better part of today’s post. All am saying is, it is absolutely okay to rock Ankara for street wear. Throw in the rubbers too, especially white ones from Bata😜. They go a long way.

I hope you like my way-two of styling my two-set outfit.Do me a favour, share this post then make sure you a have a great week ahead😊. Make sure.

I have been living in pants, so am donning my two set Ankara outfit comprising of shorts and a vest coat in honor of the sun…because it did come out at some point. Then it was cold, then it rained, then I wondered. What’s with the unfaithfulness. What is becoming of the world?! So now I can’t trust the sun too!? Am allowed to vent here right?!

Happy Wednesday ladies and gents! It’s been a minute but am B-A-C-K double offending in my vest coat. I loved it so much, I saw it was lonely, I felt it shouldn’t be alone so I made it a pair of shorts for a companion. This cute set is perfect for sunny days or any outdoor concert-ish events. I would probably wear it for a catch up with the girls too.

I am creating a lookbook around it just to show you guys the different ways I would style it so then, bookmark this page for updates on the subsequent posts.

I hope the rest of the week is kind to you!

Originally, Power Dressing is a fashion style that enables women to establish their authority in a professional & political environment, traditionally dominated by men.

However for me, it’s a feeling, a mood. It results after you are fearless with your choice of dressing. It’s believing in your aura, your feminine energy and wearing whatever outfit you choose regardless of the existing opinions around it. It’s saying,’ I know people think this belongs to women of an older generation’ …’People think that wearing this makes me a lesser woman’! But I choose to wear it. It’s ignoring all that, and making it all about you. Embracing what makes you feel whatever feeling it is you are looking for. On that note, look at Theresa May, Britain prime minister’s style. She’s refused to admit that fashion is irreconcilable with caring about, say, nuclear policy and in doing so she’s setting precedent that allows women to show a facet of their persona which otherwise could be denied without it undermining expectations.

That said, how gorgeous is this ankara belt though! It’s from my collection and comes in both Ankara and Leather! How cool, right?! I am aware that younger girls shy off from ankara, but I assure my fellow ankara lovers, it comes down to how it makes you feel. Therefore if you feel fabulous in ankara, please rock it! By all means possible!

Meanwhile, see how I changed my rather boring outfit into this powerful ‘power dress’ using my ankara belt!

Thanks for visiting, stay fabulous!

There’s just some level of serenity that comes with whites.I know I know some of us are super conscious whenever we wear white worried sick you could stain it anytime. Personally I take my chances, all white err’thing any day!!!

Now that am talking about serenity I’m tempted to talk about meditation. I did silently promise myself not to talk about it,at least not in this post. These two are cousins though, so why not!

Meditation is a practice where an individual trains the mind or induces a mode of consciousness, either to realize some benefits (which are vast by the way) or for the mind to simply acknowledge its content without becoming identified with that content or as an end in itself.

I have been practicing meditation for a while, and to be honest I couldn’t be more content with myself. Am talking decreased anxiety & stress, increased creativity, gaining clarity and peace of mind, focus…I could go on and on and on. But am limiting myself to those benefits am experiencing personally as of now. There exists a lot more benefits, usually requiring deeper meditation, one that goes with attention, duration and attaching sensation to our desires.

This is a very wide topic, which I intend to cover sometime when I am quite successful😉 (aka more visible results). The power of belief, visualization & intention is as real as it gets. Successful people all over the world have a way of thinking, purpose to develop your own way of thinking and unleash power within you.

Thank you so much for visiting, and more so reading this article.

To all you beautiful souls that gave me sweet comments the other day, this one’s for you! I had an almost similar ensemble a few days ago and received the sweetest of compliments from friends and strangers alike. Then I thought, why not blog about it!

I have so much love for this ankara vest coat (don’t go searching for ‘Ankara vest coat’ on google. See I don’t think it’s a thing. Am just in the habit of coming up with words). I am not sure what the love is about but it could be coz it’s in this super bright popping print. Better still, it’s probably coz I will never run out of ways to style it. A little black dress being one of the options I could work with. Need I talk about how classic the LBD is? No? I thought so too.

I previously wore the same ensemble but kind of of styled it differently.I could give you a thousand and one, (not literally) ways to style this coat but I prefer to do a look book instead. All am saying is, if you don’t already own one of these then you are not doing yourself any justice. Do yourself a favor and order one in the comment box below, coz you needed it like yesterday.

Thank you so much for visiting .

Do you ever have those Mondays that feel like a Thursday evening? Like Thursday leading to a Friday. Friday not in the sense of anticipating the weekend but the feeling of a so far spent week. I’m somewhat not so sure how I intend to survive this week. Am gonna survive though, coz a winner don’t quit on themself ( In Beyonce’s voice ).

Booties with socks?! Yes please! I pulled this ‘not-so-conventional’ look the other day and absolutely loved it! While styling ,skirt and boots with socks is not the first thing that comes to mind really but who cares?!You can never be all black over-clad. You can absolutely wear black, full on black. If you can fit it all in,then by all means do! All am saying is; me, my black hat, black choker, black top , black leather skirt, black socks and boots got to hang out! And we had a great time!!!

Don’t be afraid to join the disobedient society. The one that knows no rules. It’s not about playing by the rules or the usual. It’s about having fun. Just let the fun in!!!

I cant thank you enough for yet another visit. Have a fun-filled week ahead!

Hello good people! Say hello to yet another creation from Grace The Brand! The way I say it, an unfamiliar party will think that it’s a worthy competitor to Dolce and Gabbana or Calvin Klein or Burberry or Dior or Chanel or Gucci or Luis Vuitton! Boy, or Balmain! A girl can dream right!

Quick rant…

Am still in my very early 20’s but lately am losing my mind over unachievement. I am confused, does that word even exist? I feel like the big 30 is around the corner. I am paranoid. Thanks. I know. But seriously, I am scared that the pace at which am moving is not good enough. The fact that I am finishing my undergrad this year is not helping either. I don’t like the number of ticks on my ‘to do list’ in life.

Okay am done, carry on??

So I want to create good content for the blog, good pieces for my line, good grades in school, be a good role model to my sister, productivity at my work place and cultivate great relationships with those close to my heart: friends and family alike. But this demon called negativity is on my case. So I look for answers and weapons to subdue it.

While at it, I got something. See attaching weight and importance to good thoughts in long durations is good in programming our minds. However, our unconscious and mind is programmed not just by thought but action and behavior incredibly condition our minds. Hence Grace The Brand, and the many pieces I have been creating lately. So that one day, It will be a brand that people can identify with.

I am wearing my hendrix top with my shorts, ( previously pants) and my fave pair of lace-up heels. The Hendrix top is super versatile as it can be worn with a pencil skirts, skinny jeans, booty shorts and you should absolutely try it with a pair of boyfriend jeans. Extremely chic.

Thanks for dropping by.

My name is Grace, am a firm believer that hardwork and talent together with one’s ability to identify and make use of opportunities can propel them towards achievement of the unimaginable. Am telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth 😏.( No pun intended)

I have always wanted to create high end fashion pieces and make them affordable to people, and while at it, I have managed with my mama’s help  to come up with pieces (as seen right here on the blog) that am in all humility proud of.My latest creation,Joggers/Sweats suits, whatever name you choose to go with. They come in neutral colors ie Olive, tan, nude, black, white and grey.

For this post I wore a nude suit, aiming at a simple laid back look. To achieve this I went minimal with the accessories hence the simple nude bag and shoes.

This casual-staple-turned-fashion-crush is super versatile and incredibly comfortable.

There are 1001 ways to style this former gym staple that had been redefined into a luxe, immaculately tailored thing for the masses.

As always good people, stay stylish and feel appreciated for stopping by.
